Art Deco Cocktail sticks Fox
FANTASTIC DECO ESCARGOT OR MARTINI FORK HOLDER IN RED BAKELITE, CHROME AND ROSEWOOD.
CIRCA 1920.
A great set of 8 forks, depicted as a Fox at the base of a tree, saluting a Blackbird in the Cherry tree, that has a red berry in its beak.
The set of forks all have a brilliant red Bakelite ball at the top, with a forked prong at the other. The fox, forks and tree, are heavily chromed, and all rest on a polished Rosewood base.
The layout may represent a European Nursery rhyme or children’s story, as it has that humorous side to it.
It stands approx. 13.5cm (5.3”) high, and the base is approx. 15cm(6”) wide x 6.3cm (2.5”) deep.
All components are in absolutely perfect condition, and are of the highest quality.
The 3 nuts to the base, supporting the chrome-work are in brass, of split circular screw configuration, only found on very high quality , usually French, manufacture.
