Japanese Art Nouveau Visting Tray
ART NOUVEAU VISITING CARD TRAY, ORIENTAL INFLUENCE.
CIRCA 1910.
Consisting of an intricate raised design of sparrows with nest and young in the Bamboo, other birds in flight and Peony Roses and leaves.
The border of the tray is edged with various leaves or bamboo stalks.
The underside has a simple raised pattern of a gourd, vine and leaves, which may be representative of the Asian Designer.
The upper finish is copper over white metal base, whereas the underside appears a silver finish over partly exposed copper.
Condition is excellent with only a few very tiny spots of oxidation to the top only, and is hardly noticeable amongst the intricate, overall upper design.
Size is approximately 18.7cm (7.4”) long x 6.5cm (2.6”) wide x 1cm (0.4”) high.
